January 2021 Tenant Update - NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

TENANT UPDATE – NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

On December 26 all of Ontario entered the lockdown phase of the pandemic control measures.  Today the Government of Ontario's Stay At Home Order takes effect to control the spread of Covid-19 in our community.  If you require more information about the current situation and restrictions in place you may visit the website covid-19.ontario.ca.

Our building staff will continue to operate following all guidelines set forth by the Government.  Staff will continue their regular cleaning schedules and as well sanitizing high touch areas multiple times throughout the day.

We continue to ask all residents to adhere to safety precautions and follow provincial orders to help protect each other and reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.  We ask tenants to take all necessary precautions as follows:

  • Wear a mask when in the common areas of the building (corridors, elevators, laundry room, stairwells, etc.);
  • Physical distance from others a minimum of six (6) feet;
  • Do not have visitors to your apartment and do not visit with other tenants;
  • Have deliveries left in the front entry area of the building and pick up your parcel as soon as you can;
  • Limit elevator use to one person at a time unless you live in the same apartment;
  • Use a buddy system where necessary to assist in your errands;
  • Limit laundry room usage to 2 tenants to allow for physical distancing;
  • Make use of hand sanitizer stations located within the building;
  • Limit in person contact with building staff and communicate with building staff via telephone and email;
  • Make use of our online Maintenance Request form on our website;
  • Where possible make rent payments by cheque/money order dropped through the building office door.

If you are unable to wear a mask due to health reasons, we ask that you be extra diligent in physical distancing from others in the common areas and especially in enclosed areas such as the laundry room.

We would prefer that you wear a mask in the laundry room, if at all possible, as it is a small area.  Please take turns in the laundry room and avoid waiting in the laundry room for the machines to finish.  Please wait in your apartment and time your return to the laundry room appropriately.

We are all in this together, and with everyone's co-operation, we will get through this.  Thank you again for your co-operation.

Tenants are encouraged to monitor their health closely.  In the event that you or any of your family members fall ill with a fever, respiratory symptoms or believe you are sick, we advise that you should self-isolate, contact your primary healthcare provider and the Public Health Department, and advise Building Management via phone 416-923-1714 ext 27 or email - girwin@canahahns.com
